Titus 2

Christians are called to be like a Tiffany diamond setting - lifting up the gospel to display Christ's brilliance rather than concealing it with our own accomplishments. Paul's instructions to Titus emphasize sound doctrine built on faith, love, and steadfastness, with particular emphasis on self-control as evidence that mastery over sin is possible through Christ. Rather than attacking systems directly, the gospel transforms individuals, which in turn changes society. We live between Christ's first coming, which brought grace and training in righteousness, and His second coming, which represents our blessed hope. Our lives should be simple, elegant settings that showcase the brilliant jewel of the gospel to the world.

Joshua 21

The tribe of Levi began under a curse, scattered throughout Israel as punishment for their ancestors' violent sins at Shechem. Yet God transformed this judgment into an incredible blessing, making the Levites the priests and spiritual leaders of the entire nation. Their scattering became a strategic placement to serve all of Israel, and their inheritance became God Himself rather than temporary land. From this cursed tribe came Moses, Aaron, and other great spiritual leaders. This transformation reveals God's power to turn our deepest shame into our highest calling, whether we're dealing with consequences from our own mistakes or suffering from others' sins.

Joshua 15-19

Sunday Sep 28, 2025
God's promises aren't abstract concepts but concrete realities meant to be experienced in our daily lives. In Joshua 18, we see how God fulfilled His 400-year-old promise to Abraham with specific land distributions for each tribe. Even though the Israelites hadn't completely conquered the land, God established His dwelling place at Shiloh among them. This teaches us that God doesn't wait for perfect circumstances to meet with us. He wants to establish a regular meeting place—our own 'Shiloh'—where we can worship Him faithfully even amid our incomplete victories. His promises are meant to stimulate us to action, not sedate us into passive waiting.
